Present day compute and moreover high-performance computing systems in the NHR alliance are based on the newest hardware technologies. This includes heterogeneous chip architectures and performant communication networks. Their efficient usage is based on problem adapted algorithms in the field of parallel programming and includes the energy efficient inclusion of accelerators, in particular GPUs.
The NHR@ZIB supports such demands and helps to extend the knowledge base of the users. For that a broad range of information, education, and advanced trainings is offered to present and future users and to the general HPC community.
For the education of junior researchers the NHR@ZIB contributes to the NHR graduate school, to the course offerings at the universities of the Berlin University Alliance (BUA), especially for bachelor, master, and PhD students. Low-threshold support contains the following activities.
